AmeriHealth Caritas Wins International Treasury Award
AmeriHealth Caritas (ACFC), a national leader in health care solutions, recently received a “Highly Commended” award for Best Cash Flow Forecasting Solution in the 2024 Adam Smith Awards.
Treasury Today, which organizes the awards, honored AmeriHealth Caritas at an international gala.
“Winning the Adam Smith Award shows how valuable our Treasury team is,” said Pamela Schmidt, AmeriHealth Caritas Vice President of Treasury & Chief Investment Officer. “We’ve created and put into practice a top-notch liquidity framework that highlights the importance of strong cash forecasting.”
The company’s Treasury team, led by Schmidt, won the recognition for its innovative Liquidity Model, which helps with deciding how to split the company’s assets between long-term investments (e.g., stocks and bonds) and short-term ones (e.g., cash). The right balance can bring in tens of millions of dollars each year.
“I’m very proud of Pam and the Treasury team,” said Robert Kolodgy, AmeriHealth Caritas Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “They saw an area for improvement and developed an innovative solution that earned international praise.”
Now in their 17th year, the Adam Smith Awards are seen as the premier industry benchmark for corporate treasury achievement. Award winners are selected for their innovation, creativity, outstanding insight, thinking “outside the box,” and real business impact.
Kaufman Hall served as an advisor alongside the treasury team and brought technical expertise that led to a more holistic cash forecast and liquidity model.
“It is an honor to be part of the AmeriHealth Caritas team that’s been recognized by the Adam Smith Awards, and what’s especially important to us is that the awards recognize business impact as a key award criterion,” said Kaufman Hall senior vice president James Green, who leads the firm’s Treasury Operations service line. “To be named in the same company as global organizations like Domino’s, Microsoft, and GE HealthCare shows us that our partnership with AmeriHealth Caritas has yielded meaningful results.”
Treasury Today received more than 389 nominations from 34 countries, representing talent spanning a wide range of company sizes, geographical locations, and industry sectors.
The Adam Smith Awards Celebration Dinner was held on June 26 at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London.
