AmeriHealth Caritas California

A diverse group of different health care workers.

In late 2021, we anticipate that the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will release a request for proposal (RFP) for their new Medi-Cal initiative, California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM).

We intend to respond to this RFP. It is our goal to qualify for the Medicaid Two-Plan model in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Los Angeles, and Kern counties, and the Geographic Managed Care (GMC) model in Sacramento and San Diego.

If we are selected as a Medi-Cal managed care health plan, we also intend to implement a Medicare Advantage special needs plan for Medi-Cal beneficiaries who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal.

To meet these goals, we are currently developing a network of hospital, physician, ancillary, behavioral health, vision, and nonemergency medical transportation providers. We want to partner with dedicated providers like you.
