AmeriHealth Caritas Leaders Named to Modern Healthcare’s Top Diversity and Emerging Leaders Lists

Chief Psychiatric Medical Officer Dr. Yavar Moghimi honored as a Top Diversity Leader and Corporate Director Mairead McInerney honored as a Top Emerging Leader

June 2, 2022
Philadelphia, Pa.

AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other solutions for those most in need, announced that two of its leaders were named to Modern Healthcare’s Top Diversity and Top Emerging Leaders lists. Yavar Moghimi, M.D., chief psychiatric medical officer for AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia, was named a Top Diversity Leader. Mairead McInerney, corporate director of population health-wellness coordination and member experience, was honored as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top Emerging Leaders.

“Our company values these exceptionally creative and compassionate professionals who contribute greatly to advancing our mission to help people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Paul A. Tufano. “Mairead and Dr. Moghimi are representative of our company’s diverse leadership as well, which is essential to fostering the cultural competencies that help ensure our holistic health care model responds to our members’ unique needs and supports their overall health and wellness.”

Moghimi and McInerney were among 25 honorees in their respective categories, and were selected because of their demonstrated commitment to expanding and improving access to care for all patients, as well as for their contributions to facilitating an environment of continuous innovation and cultural competency. These qualities are rooted in AmeriHealth Caritas’ mission.

Modern Healthcare, a leader in health care business news, research and data, gives its annual Top Diversity Leaders Award to top health care executives from diverse backgrounds and the organizations influencing the policy and care delivery models across the country. These individuals are also highlighting the continued need to nurture diversity in their organizations.

Additionally, Modern Healthcare annually honors emerging leaders age 40 or under who have made significant contributions in the areas of innovation and financial, operational and clinical excellence early in their careers.

This year’s honorees have been profiled in Modern Healthcare, and more information on each winner can be accessed online at www.modernhealthcare.com/awards.
